Camp Details

Ascend California will run from July 14th to 28th, 2024 at California State University, Sacramento (“CSU Sacramento”) in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is conveniently served by Sacramento International Airport (“SMF”). For an additional fee, we will be offering transportation from the airport to our campus.

 

Safety

We understand that safety is a prerequisite to learning. Our campus straddles the beautiful and safe East Sacramento and Sierra Oaks neighborhoods. During camp, students are constantly supervised, have nightly room checks, and have 24/7 access to a nurse. All staff are background checked per California State Law.

  • Welcome to speech and debate! We’d love to chat with you to help you learn about speech and debate, please feel free to find a time that works for you on our Calendly. Our general recommendation for new comers is Congressional Debate because it combines both speech and debate skills.

  • Absolutely! 65%+ of our students in Summer 2023 were from states other than California. We have students who come from all over the country, including from Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and Texas, among other states.

  • We’ll miss you, but that’s why Ascend Online exists! More details will be published in the coming months, but Ascend Online will be offered from June 29 to July 13, 2024—the two weeks preceding Ascend California.
