Ascend California - Residential Camp Director
Natalya Edwards Weltman serves as a Residential Camp Director for Ascend Speech & Debate. She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in program development, staff development, mentorship, and community engagement, along with over a decade of experience as a Speech and Debate Judge.
In her professional career, Natalya leads a reentry education and rehabilitation program in California, bringing together community partnerships, large-scale events, educational opportunities, and services that promote rehabilitation and transformation. Her experience managing complex programs and creating supportive environments makes her a natural fit for residential camp leadership.
As both a leader and mother, Natalya believes that learning extends far beyond the classroom. She is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, communication skills, resilience, and a sense of purpose. She is excited to join Ascend team and committed to creating a camp experience where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to have fun, build friendships, and grow in confidence. A proud member of House Slytherin, Natalya values ambition, resourcefulness, determination, and loyalty to those she serves.
